What is the BEST way to backup your Mac? The best solution for you 5 years ago may not be the best method today! The BEST backup solution must be able to wit. Looking for perfect Backup Solution for Mac - posted in Mac OS: Hello everyone, My name is Daniel and I am looking for a perfect backup solution for Mac email clients. I completely agree that Time. Acronis is a name well known in the Windows world, but less so to Mac users. True Image is its personal backup solution and it supports backing up your data to a local disk, Acronis' own cloud.
Your MacBook Pro will create local Time Machine snapshots when it cannot connect to your Time Capsule. When you do re-establish the connection, it will continue to make backups to the TC.

However, if the data on your notebook is critical to you, I would suggest that you also create a clone copy of it system drive and keep this clone updated periodically. Two excellent apps for this are: Carbon Copy Cloner and SuperDuper! Both will require an external drive to make the backups to, but if you use a portable drive, like a WD My Passport, you can easily take this drive with you when you're away from home.
I do not necessarily recommend cloud backups for two reasons:
- They are extremely slow, and
- They will require enough storage space for your backups ... which, most likely, will come at an additional cost. Note that the iCloud Drive is not intended for backing up Macs, not even with Time Machine. However, they can be used for backing up iOS devices.
If you really need to backup to the cloud, I would suggest that you only copy critical files when needed. You can also look at a cloud solution, like BackBlaze.
